Prairie State Park is a 3,942-acre area of grasslands and woodlands. The park is a preservation of the prairie land that once covered Missouri. The park offers exhibits and interpretive programs. Hiking, picnicking and camping are all popular here. The park offers five trails that equal about 12 miles in length when combined. The three mile Drover's Trail is handicap accessible. Each trail provides a different variety of terrain and scenery.
